About Us

Feet First is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving Washington State, with a focus on the Puget Sound Region. We were founded in 1996 to promote the rights and interests of pedestrians and to encourage walking.

Feet First is known around the region for its long history of innovation and volunteer activities. A grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation enabled us to hire our first staff person at the end of 2003. We now serve communities statewide and are regularly consulted and invited to participate in national initiatives and research programs.

See our brochure for more information.
