Climate Action and Green Jobs Passes Legislature, helping to reduce vehicle miles traveled

Our "Vehicle Miles Traveled: Transportation Tools for a Sustainable Future" priority identified as part of Transportation Advocacy Day 2008 has passed the legislature in the form of a Climate Action and Green Jobs bill.

Decreasing per capita Vehicle Miles Traveled between now and 2050 emerged as a “most promising” priority during the Governor's Climate Advisory Team process.

This is good news and will require the state to develop strategies to slow and reverse the growth in vehicle miles traveled.

Transportation is the largest contributor of global warming pollution in this state.
