Feet First has launched the Go Cart for Groceries project in West Seattle. We are distributing personal shopping carts to residents who live around Westwood Village to make it easier to do errands by foot.

The carts are durable 2-wheeled frames with a waterproof bag. Participants must

• pay $15 for the cart (normally $90);
• pledge to walk once more per week to the grocery store; and
• take a survey when receiving their cart and again in late August 2008.

The project is targeted to residents living approximately half mile from Westwood Village in Southwest Seattle (area shown in the map).
